Murray River- Stretching 2520 kilometres through South Australia, Victoria and New South Wales, the Murray River is part of the third largest river catchment in the world. To explore the Murray River even further, steam paddle boat Coorong National Park- Coorong National park stretches over 150 km along the Younghusband Peninsula on South Australia’s mid-south coast. It is a world recognised sanctuary for thousands of birds. Many different types of birds can be found at the Park along the shallow, salty lagoons which stretch for more than 100km. Blue Lake- The Blue Lake in Mount Gambier occupies one of the craters of the extinct volcano after which the city has been named. This giant lake measures 1087 metres by 657 metres, with an average depth of 72 metres. Flinders Ranges- Offers perspective on the vastness of time being one of the best places to experience the true Australian outback. This 450 million year old landscape is the largest mountain range in South Australia, with beautiful National parks scattered around it. Kangaroo Island- Kangaroo island is Australia's third largest island. One third of the island is declared a conservation area and national park. Locals offer some of the best local food and cuisine in Australia. Also has a history to explore. Port Lincoln- “Seafood capital of Australia” home to the largest commercial fishing fleet in Australia. Renowned as the world’s best place to go cage diving with great white sharks. It is located at approximately 280km from the SA capital, Adelaide. The Barossa Valley- “Australia’s wine capital” features over eighty cellar doors, all within two hours drive of Adelaide. The Barossa valley offers wine tastings, vineyard tours and manny more opportunities. |
